INFORMATION
Portable appliance testing was introduced to enable companies and organisations to comply with the Electricity at Work regulations.
The Electricity at Work Act requires electrical systems to be maintained regularly.
Additional legislation of specific relevance to electrical maintenance includes:
- The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulation 1999.
- The Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulation 1992.
- The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1988.
